Federica Biasi started her professional career in Italy, followed by 2 years in Amsterdam where she explored Nordic design, learned to identify emerging trends and developed her own style. The focus was on formal simplicity: soft, graceful and detailed, with an always clean aesthetic approach. In 2015 she returned to Milan where she set up Federica Biasi Studio.
Anticipating international trends is essential to Federica. Whether it is a matter of colours or materials, she is always drawn to functionality and shapes. Her goal is to reach the right balance between her personal touch and her clients’ know-how. Art Director and Product Designer, she works with Italian and international design and furniture brands such as Nespresso, cc-tapis, Coin Casa, Lema, Imetec, Gallotti&Radice, Fratelli Guzzini, Manerba, Mingardo, Nason Moretti, Decoratori Bassanesi, Potocco and Leolux.
Her gaze is curious and outgoing. While paying attention to sometimes forgotten artisanal stories, cinematographic and photographic projects, the Milanese designer gets inspired by nature and travels all over the world. She combines manual work and tradition in order to reach innovative solutions, imagines every detail in order to come up with efficient and functional products.
Appointed by master Andrea Branzi, in 2018 she was awarded as one of the 6 Italian Rising Talents at Maison & Objet fair in Paris. In Autumn 2021 Federica Biasi conceived Lume for Nespresso, for the official collection, designing her version of the classical Italian coffee cup anointing her as an international industrial designer.
