As Design Director, Gavin Harris applies his vision and expertise to every project ensuring the physical spaces designed and created by futurespace are future-focused, intelligent and practical in order to enhance people’s lives and businesses.
His creative skills have been built over years of delivering design services to the world’s best businesses and brands. He has worked throughout Australia and Europe over the past twenty years, and joined futurespace in 2009.
Gavin’s skills as a designer are unique; not only is he creatively minded, he also has a rare technical and buildability focus to his work. The value that this knowledge brings to a project is remarkable and provides Futurespace’s clients with a distinct advantage when delivering important accommodation projects.
He believes design is important on many levels: from the functional necessity of assisting businesses reaching their aims and aspirations; to creating an environment that enhances quality of life; to the satisfaction of designing a place that is beyond expectation, leaving a client feeling valued and understood.
Gavin takes a bespoke approach to many parts of his work, often using systems and componentry to create a new, tailored design solution. In addition, it is his goal to include an element of surprise in his work; a touch of the unexpected. The interior projects he produces are tailor made to meet a client’s specific needs.
Gavin’s work has received many awards and he has been published extensively across the media landscape. He is a regular judge in design competitions and has spoken at conferences in Australia and internationally.
